We had lots of reasons to worry in 2017. Racial tension escalated, cities were devastated by hurricanes, sexual deviants and molesters ran for office, terrorists attacked people at public events around the world, threats of war rang out across the news, and both the President of the United States and his team were under federal investigation for election tampering and treason. Thank goodness there was great dance music with unforgettable banging tracks to help us to, even momentarily, escape the madness!
Dance music is an art, and the songs we got in 2017 are colorful, poetic, and just awesome. But of all the songs that made us move which of them were the best?
Here are LiquidAE.com’s Top 10 Dance Tracks of 2017!
#7: “Elevator” LZ7
#3: “Water Me” Lizzo
For most of ’17 we were almost certain “No Promises” by Cheat Codes featuring Demi Lovato was the undisputed winner here. It was the clear frontrunner despite an incredible crop of well-produced dance tracks from across the world.
“Something Just Like This” by Chainsmokers and Coldplay made a case for #2. Then that darn Lizzo made things really interesting. “Water Me” had us playing it and “No Promises” back to back repeatedly; sweating, hyped and smiling the entire time.
We were set to put those at #1 and #2 until Tove Lo floored us with the release of “Disco Tits”. That’s a hot record, and it had to be to surpass Codes and Lizzo.
Our minds were changed on the top spot. To further the point, this year’s list is a moist, delicious multilayered celebratory cake with a stick of dynamite on top.
