Countdown to WWE Royal Rumble 2018: What if Kofi Kingston Wins?

LiquidAE.com is counting down to the WWE Royal Rumble event on January 28, 2018. Taking place live from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA, this will be its 30th anniversary.

The Royal Rumble match is a variation of the traditional Battle Royal match with a total of 30 competitors. Two WWE Superstars start in the ring, every 90 seconds thereafter another Superstar enters. A Superstar is eliminated when they’re thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor.

The last remaining Superstar is guaranteed a championship opportunity at WrestleMania versus the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion or WWE Universal Champion.

Kofi Kingston’s ability to stave off elimination from the Royal Rumble match year after year in spectacular fashion has become cliché.

He enters the match, hangs around for a little while, someone attempts to throw him out, he responds with some really cool feat of athleticism or timing to prevent his feet from touching the floor, re-enters the ring, hangs around a bit longer until he’s eventually, legitimately eliminated.

Enough is enough.

Kingston – a multi-time Intercontinental, United States, and tag team champion – deserves to add icing on his decorated wrestling career. That would be winning either the WWE or Universal Championship.

Kofi and his New Day partners Xavier Woods and Big E could each enter the Rumble match with the plan of them against all. As the longest reigning tag champions in WWE history, also one of the most cohesive units in history overall, they could put their teamwork to its ultimate test. The 3 men could use all the dynamics of the in-ring chemistry to ensure Kofi is the last man standing. Sending him express to WrestleMania for a chance to finally add a world title to his resume.|
